Working with the staff at Sunshine Service was a wonderful experience. They are very helpful when it comes to suggesting products and do a great job of explaining how best to use the products.
Thank you.
I’m a newcomer to Sun City and suffer from a neuro-muscular disease.
As anyone with a disability can attest, assistive equipment is expensive. I knew I would have to get a new wheelchair, scooter, walker and shower chair once we arrived. My old ones were worn out and most wouldn’t fit into the U-haul. I dreaded the bill and hoped to find used equipment once we hot here.
Imagine my surprise when I saw an ad for Sunshine Service in the Independent! I was skeptical. Surely there had to be a catch but I called anyway. “Come right over” they told me. I was shocked when I walked in the building. What a warm welcome and all sorts of equipment was now available to me – for free!
Jim Sinclair and the entire staff and volunteers are to be commended. Sun City has changed my life in so many ways but I have to say the Sunshine Service has literally made it possible for me to live again. I was almost completely homebound and now I have the world open to me again.
I want to thank Sunshine Service with all my heart. They have no idea what a blessing they are.

Thank you so much for your review. It was seen in the Independent Newspaper and we are happy to now have it shown on our website.
SUNSHINE SERVICE
At the head of Sunshine Service
is a man who’s dear to me.
His name’s a real tongue twister
so he’s known as “Mr. T”.
He came to this Sun City,
yes, came and saw a need.
He started Sunshine Service
to fill a void indeed.
Back in the early days, I hear,
his little bride named Fern
handled all the office chores,
not a penny did they earn.
Hospital bed needed?
Don’t go and get all nervous.
Just get on the telephone
and call Sunshine Service.
Crutches, canes, and walkers,
commodes and all that gear
is available to you now
and all throughout the year.
Got a call from the children?
The grandkids coming soon?
Rollaways, cribs and playpens
sure are a real boon.
Two hundred fifty thousand bucks *
is a lot of cash I fear.
That’s what rentals would have cost
Sun Citians last year!
But we are, oh so lucky
’cause we can use it free!
That’s why Sunshine Service
means so very much to me!
Catastrophic illness hits,
it’s surely nice to know
all that expensive equipment
won’t eat up all your dough!
Visit Sunshine Service,
see what’s available there.
When you talk to God tonight
include them in your prayer.
*the figure for 1977 was over $424,000.
